Robert Horsey is a dedicated critical care registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in organ donation and transplantation. Since 1999, he’s served in various key roles, including Interventional Organ Procurement Coordinator at Mid-America Transplant Services in St. Louis, and Clinical Transplant Coordinator for both the Heart Transplant Program at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, and the Liver Transplant Program at Indiana University Health. Currently, he works with the Indiana Donor Network, helping to facilitate life-saving organ donations across the state. Holding certifications as a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) and Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC), Robert’s career has been marked by a deep commitment to the field of organ donation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (cum laude) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Barnes Hospital College of Nursing.

Outside of his professional life, Robert is a passionate sports fan, especially of the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney, and her two sons, Michael and Ozzy, in Carmel, Indiana. Gifted is Robert’s debut novel, where he brings his professional and personal experiences to life, offering a unique perspective on organ donation and the emotional stories that drive this crucial field.
